Jaya Klara Brekke

Biography

Jaya Klara Brekke works on technology and meaning in theory and practice. She writes and speaks on the politics, cultures and economies of emerging socio-technical systems and holds a PhD from Durham University, Geography department, titled Disassembling the Trust Machine: Three Cuts on the Political Matter of Blockchain. She is the author of the Satoshi hippocratic oath for blockchain developers, co-author of The White Paper (Ignota Books), a republishing and historical contextualisation of the Bitcoin whitepaper, and a contributor to the MoneyLab Reader #2 (2015) and Artists Re:Thinking the Blockchain (2017). Currently she is based in the UK where she is CSO at Nym, decentralised privacy network, and she also works as a research fellow at the Weizenbaum Institute in Berlin.
