Art based on blockchain is often highly technical and conceptual and demands an intrinsic explanation. In parallel, the artistic practices linked to blockchain and the mining process open new narratives closely associated with the concept of trust, the generation of value, self-managed systems, proof-of-work alternatives, post-human societies and the ecological impact. These discourses lead us to ask ourselves: What types of dialogues does blockchain-based art open? What narratives predominate? What are the intentions of artists who work with cryptocurrencies?
