  • Danilo Milovanović

Danilo Milovanović is an artist based in Ljubljana. Creating situations that speak for themselves while producing complex meanings in simple ways is a significant feature of his work. Live, Laugh, Love is an exhibition providing easy solutions to the three-pronged problem of meaning, design and convenience. “Live, Laugh, Love” is a message that makes sense. If only I could remember to live, laugh and love, life would be easy. “Live, Laugh, Love” is a message that can be put in any form on any thing – a wall sign, a T-shirt, a mug for your morning coffee. And “Live, Laugh, Love” is readily available. Share it on Facebook, order it on AliExpress, Photoshop it onto your Airbnb apartment photo.

Live, Laugh, Love brings together a generation of artists conditioned by and formed in the era of easy solutions. What is it that makes artists and their art competitive in the ideology of the elevator pitch? Three minutes to state their case, to appeal, charm, amuse, intrigue, attract, and essentially to make things simple. Live, Laugh, Love brings home the alternative to cliché, to kitsch, to the generic. In a span of an hour and a half, the exhibition, delivered directly to your living room, will make you laugh and fall in love with art you didn't know you needed.

As the Internet increasingly penetrates every corner of our lives, this is giving rise to a mindset where we expect immediate availability in all aspects of our material world, triggered by a simple click or tap.

Gallery.Delivery applies this promise of immediate availability to the exhibition space and the format of the group show. However, unlike with normal delivery services, the courier doesn't stop at the doorstep; instead, he enters the private home where he sets up the exhibition and offers the works for sale. In this moment, the process of setting up the exhibition takes centre stage as a performative aspect of the show.
