Welcome to the post-post-post-truth AI world. You know it’s not real. But you have to eat some bread in order to survive. And there is more out there. Synthetic personalities await you at the door.

We live in a time of great ambiguity and confusion. Events keep happening that seem unreal and out of control. Dead celebrities are coming back from heaven in every shape and size, from holograms to metaverse avatars and deepfakes, creators are desperately trying to capitalise on pop culture’s ancient splendor, memers are living a new cursed golden era. Millionaires are hiding in the bottom of the earth, while the rest of the humankind is trapped in a mediated reality where love is constantly intercepted by emotional advertising, robots, sockpuppets and ASMR illusions of pleasure.

All around them the world is burning. As they watch the internet decay with a cool detachment, only one thing remains certain: Fakes are among us, and “the future ahead will be weird as fuck.
”

The short film is inspired by the work of Adam Curtis and is actually narrated by his synthetic voice, made with the Generative AI Text to Speech and Voice Cloning software ElevenLabs. Like Adam Curtis’s original documentary series, the movie is a compilation of archival materials, collected from the endless source of news and oddities that the internet still is.
