Janez Janša

Conceptual artist working and living in Ljubljana, Slovenia since 1995. His work has a strong social connotation and is characterized by an inter-media approach. He is the author of numerous videos, performances, installations, documentaries and media projects. Among them Brainloop (2006), DemoKino – Virtual Biopolitical Agora (2003-06), Problemarket.com – the Problem Stock Exchange (with Igor Štromajer, 2001), machinaZOIS – Your Electromechanical Patron! (2003) and Brainscore – Incorporeal Communication (with Darij Kreuh, 2000).
Janez Janša has presented his work worldwide in several exhibitions, festivals and lectures among them, Manifesta 4, Frankfurt, Germany; ZKM, Karlsrue, Germany; ARCO, Madrid, Spain; ISEA 2002, Nagoya, Japan; Kiasma, Museum of Contemporary Art, Helsinki, Finland; White box gallery, Chelsea, NY, USA; MediaLabMadrid, Spain; Moderna galerija, Ljubljana, Slovenia; MNAC- the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Bucharest, Romania and CRCA - Center for Research in Computing & the Arts, University of California San Diego, CA, USA.

He is the co-founder and artistic director of Aksioma – Institute for Contemporary Art.
